We designed and developed a site for SRSD Online - a company that is revolutionizing how K-12 writing is taught.
Overview
We were happy to partner with SRSD Online to design and develop a new website that highlights their proven K-12 writing instruction method. Because their work is so steeped in research, they wanted a site that simultaneously appealed to teachers looking for help with specific courses AND with administrators, researchers and principals who need to dive into the research to understand the compelling case for the product. The result is a site that meets the needs of all its users.
Key Aspects
Video and Messaging
The folks at SRSD have been creating a series of great videos that show how their method works and why it outperforms other approaches to writing instruction. Our site brought together their main messaging with dozens of videos so that their users’ experience of the site would be engaging, educational and ultimately, convincing.
Presenting the Research
Because SRSD has extensive research backing it up, the folks at SRSD Online wanted to make sure that we could present all the research on the site. This would make the site a valuable resource not just for educators, but for researchers, academics and for district-level administrators as well. We used “read more” toggles and other techniques to make the research presentable and accessible without being overwhelming.
Redesigned Course & Lesson Pages
Along with a refreshed site, we needed to refresh SRSD’s course and lesson pages. We worked closely with SRSD to redesign the materials they had painstakingly developed, reworking each course page into a compelling and streamlined interactive design that makes going through the course or lesson fun and effortless.

Approach
This site was made with a custom theme in WordPress and made use of Gravity Forms as well as Advanced Custom Fields. We made it very easy for the client to update the site, add new pages, and edit the extensive and current information on the site. Since launch, the site has been evolving and growing, as we like to see.
Takeaways
SRSD Online was an exciting project for us because we had to find creative ways to present an incredible volume of information while keeping the visitor captivated and glued to the screen.
